Financial Analyst 

VineBrook Homes is an internally managed Midwest/Heartland-based real estate investment company, focused on acquiring, renovating, leasing and operating single-family homes as rental properties.  An early investor and developer of the Single-Family Rental home (SFR) asset class, we commenced operations in late 2007.  Our proven, yield-focused investment strategy targets a unique opportunity building a portfolio of "Optimal House" assets in key Midwest markets.  We own or manage over 6,000 SFR assets in 12 states and 18 major Midwest/Heartland markets.  Additionally, VineBrook Homes is currently undergoing the next major expansion of its strategy, expecting to drive toward 10,000-15,000+ Homes.

Position Overview This role requires creating financial models and analysis that will be used to evaluate all aspects of the business, including operational and acquisition related data. The role will assist in the development of reporting packages that will be provided to executive management and investors. This position will also provide various analytical tools to identify opportunities to improve NOI and other operational metrics.  We are seeking a candidate who desires a long-term career opportunity with a successful, growing company in the residential services industry. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and report on new market financial modeling and tracking. This will include building underwriting models for expected financial performance on newly acquired assets and then tracking those assets to compare actual performance to internal underwriting 
  • Create daily, dynamic reports and dashboards that will be utilized by members of the Acquisition team to ensure that the company is on pace to achieve its deployment goals 
  • Analyze historical data to help improve company decision making regarding acquisition activity to improve NOI, Gross Yield, etc. 
  • Develop/enhance acquisition tracking and performance 
  • Develop/enhance company's operational reporting and tracking 
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual debt reporting 
  • Work with Lender to receive timely reimbursement for funds held in escrow for CapEx and casualty related items 
  • Assist with variance analysis on monthly Financial Statements 
  • Will assist with Overall Financial Management including, but not limited to, banking relationships, lender relationships, and online Financial functionality 
  • Complete Ad-Hoc projects needed by CFO, analytics team and other members of executive team 
  • Perform portfolio performance analysis including IRR, Yield, NOI, etc. developed from published historical and forward-looking financial statements 
  • Assist with the develop metrics driven reporting and strategy to communicate information to executive staff used for understanding and improving our core business and its operations

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or related field 
  • 3-4 years of previous Financial, debt and financial analysis experience  
  • Advanced Financial Analytical Skills 
  • Ability to Operate and Report Strategically 
  • Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, real estate and business environment  
  • Data entry skills 
  • Strong Mathematics 
  • Time Management skills 
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint Skills
