ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE CLERK PROPERTY MANAGEMENT VineBrook Homes is an internally managed Midwest-based real estate investment company, focused on acquiring, renovating, leasing and operating single-family homes as rental properties. An early investor and developer of the Single Family Rental Home (SFRH) asset class, we commenced operations in late 2007. Our proven, yield-focused investment strategy, targets a unique opportunity building a portfolio of "Optimal House" assets in key Midwest markets. We own or manage over 3,000+ SFRH assets in 4 states and 4 major Midwestern cities. Additionally, VineBrook Homes is currently undergoing the next major expansion of its strategy, expecting to drive toward 7,500+ units.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The accounts receivable clerk is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of rent payments and billable maintenance. This position is a primary customer contact and must provide professional caliber customer service to our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Tasks-Duties-Responsibilities for this position.

  1. Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers. 2. Apply customer payments to accounts receivable ledgers. 3. Research and resolve payment discrepancies. 4. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. 5. Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. 6. Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers. 7. Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software. 8. Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents. 9. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. 10. Code documents according to company procedures. 11. Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records. 12. Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts. 13. TRAVEL No travel is expected for this position.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime is required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. Two to three years' previous experience. Data entry skills Strong Mathematics Exemplary Customer Service skills.  Time Management skills Experience using accounting software.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Two year degree in accounting Prior experience using YARDI accounting software.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Valid Ohio driver's license. 2. Pass a Motor Vehicle, Drug Screen, Credit, and Criminal Background Check.
