VineBrook Homes is an internally managed Midwest-based real estate investment company, focused on acquiring, renovating, leasing and operating single-family homes as rental properties.  An early investor and developer of the Single-Family Rental Home (SFRH) asset class, we commenced operations in late 2007.  Our proven, yield-focused investment strategy, targets a unique opportunity building a portfolio of "Optimal House" assets in key Midwest markets.  We own or manage over 4,000+ SFRH assets in 4 states and 4 major Midwestern cities.  Additionally, VineBrook Homes is currently undergoing the next major expansion of its strategy, expecting to drive toward more than doubling it's unit count over the next 24 months. 

We are currently seeking a qualified Financial Analyst in the finance department to help create this functionality for the company.  This position will report directly to the CFO.  The role requires creating financial models analysis and advice on in-place debt and future debt placement, research structural tax strategy, and develop reporting packages to executive management and at times investors. In addition, this position will develop and analyze banking relationships, monitor balance fees, seek improved efficiency in overall cash management & costs.  This position will also provide various analytical tools to the CFO & his department.  We are seeking a candidate who desires a long-term career opportunity with a successful company in the residential services industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Tasks-Duties-Responsibilities imperative for this position:

  1. Perform portfolio performance analysis including IRR, Yield, NOI, etc. developed from published historical and forward looking financial statements
  2. Develop knowledge of and ability to advise on tax structure, modeling and forecasting.
  3. Develop and maintain metrics driven reporting and strategy to communicate information to executive staff used for understanding and improving our core business
  4. Develop and report on new market financial modeling
  5. Monitor, Manage, Analyze and Advise on company debt and interest rate environment as it pertains to current, future and expiring debt to achieve the best cost of capital available, leverage ratios, and refinancing in line with company return objectives
    • Develop detailed understanding of real estate specific debt markets to aid access to the best possible debt based on company's current product and strategy
    • Develop reporting and analysis metrics to identify interest rate and debt risk in advance and provide strategy on how to mitigate
    • Develop expertise in the debt structures utilized by the publicly traded competitors in the industry to enhance strategy internally
    • Develop contacts and networking with the CFO's guidance to assist access to pertinent data to help drive the cost of capital down
  6. Develop a comprehensive debt compliance reporting package that also tests and predicts risk in covenant violations based on financial performance trends
  7. Perform monthly, quarterly and annual debt reporting
  8. VineBrook vs. Public comparison reporting on quarterly basis with trend analysis and VineBrook ratio improvement recommendations
    • Assist IT in developing a management dashboard with real time, dynamic data necessary to enhance executive management's business decisions
  1. Responsible for Overall Financial Management including, but not limited to, banking relationships, lender relationships, and online Financial functionality
  2. Enhance current company versus public reporting package and provide quarterly calendar of reports
  3. Maintain and enhance monthly and annual budgeting and forecasting for all funds, markets and operating companies
  4. Complete Ad-Hoc projects needed by CFO

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or related field
  2. 5-7 years of previous Financial, debt and financial analysis experience.

  5. Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, real estate and business environment
